As the Moon’s colony develops, players will find that they are more vulnerable than they might expect. It will be essential to protect any newly claimed territory, the citizens that reside there, and its infrastructure from all forms of harm.
Despite the frequency of conflict, the game’s mechanics have been developed to incentivize players to seek alliances and avoid all-out war as often as possible. Player actions can have far-reaching consequences, impacting a player’s own community and those of neighboring countries.
As we have discussed before, Moon countries that plan to survive long-term will want to supply their military forces with powerful weaponry. Some will prefer to use them as a method of deterrent, others will use them to try and forcibly take control of another countries territory.
A large weapons cache is essential to any Moon country’s defense because battles are lost when one of the parties involved runs out of firepower. However, in order to ensure a balanced experience, there are a number of events planned to ensure countries whose military and resources are far outnumbered, retain a small chance of victory.
When a battle is over, the conquered lands will be absorbed by the victorious country, and their citizens will have to flee or accept their new ruler’s regime.
