Did you know that Stanley Kubrick was accused of working with the US government to fake the 1969 Moon landing? This is one of many conspiracy theories that have inspired Moon Metaverses’ lunar mysteries.
Kubrick’s 1968 masterpiece 2001: A Space Odessey created such a convincing representation of space that in the years after the Moon landing, conspiracy theorists began to wonder if the government had hired him to film the whole thing inside a studio.
Amazingly in an interview given just three days before his death, the filmmaker confessed, “the moon landings ALL were faked, and that I was the person who filmed it.” Of course, this infamous interview turned out to be fake, with the role of Kubrick being played by an actor. In reality, his film looks so life-like because he collaborated closely with aerospace engineers and astronomical artists.
Mysteries of the Moon
When players land on the Moon they will discover that it still holds many unsolved mysteries. Inspired by real-world conspiracy theories and unexplained events, players will be tasked with taking on a series of quests and side missions that serve as an introduction to this unknown side of the Moon.
Expedition missions will be held on a regular basis. Whilst on them, players will explore the dark side of the Moon looking to locate items that will help them to solve fascinating puzzles.
Solving conspiracy theories will involve completing knowledge-based games, with each mission designed to test a player's ingenuity, skill, and reaction time.
Players who manage to successfully complete these missions will be richly rewarded. Expect unlockable NFTs and Moon Tokens which can be used to speed up HEX development, gaining them the upper hand on their rivals.
